The International Federation of Procurement and Supply Management (IFPSM) is the global federation of national procurement and supply management associations. Founded in 1974, IFPSM represents a worldwide community of professionals dedicated to advancing procurement and supply management.
Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and global standards, IFPSM promotes excellence, innovation, and professional development across the procurement and supply management profession.
Full Membership in IFPSM is open to national procurement and supply management associations that represent professionals in their respective countries.
By joining IFPSM, national associations become part of a global network, gaining opportunities for international collaboration, professional development, knowledge exchange, and participation in global initiatives that support the advancement of the profession.
Associate Membership of IFPSM: an applicant association may be admitted as an Associate Member if it satisfies the following:
a. it agrees to comply with the IFPSM Constitution, Code of Conduct, Regulations, and Policies;
b. it is actively engaged in procurement and supply management or in other Areas of Activity;
c. it pays the annual membership fee as defined by the Board;
d. it has a minimum of 45 members.
The Associate Member status is limited to three years, during which the association is expected to meet all requirements for Full Members.
Associate Members may participate in Federation activities but cannot vote, be elected, serve on the Board, or act as Officers.
Affiliate Member of IFPSM could become a reputable and committed national or international organisation may be admitted as an Affiliate Member if:
a. it agrees to comply with the IFPSM Constitution, Code of Conduct, and Regulations;
b. it is willing to collaborate with the Federation by sharing knowledge with its own members or by adding value in one or more Areas of Activity;
c. its application is approved by a majority vote of the Board.
The IFPSM Global Standard (GS) defines internationally recognized competencies and knowledge areas for procurement and supply management professionals.
It provides a framework that helps align professional education, certification, and career development across countries, supporting the consistent development of high-quality procurement professionals worldwide.
The Program Accreditation System (PAS) is IFPSM’s process for evaluating and recognizing educational and certification programs in procurement and supply management.
Through PAS, IFPSM ensures that programs meet the requirements of the IFPSM standards, helping to maintain quality, consistency, and international recognition of professional qualifications.

The application process includes submitting information about the association, its membership, governance structure, and activities. Applications are reviewed according to IFPSM membership criteria before approval by the appropriate governing body.
